Barbara White has received commissions from the New York New Music Ensemble, the Fromm Foundation, Boston Musica Viva, the Stony Brook Contemporary Chamber Players, and the Philadelphia Orchestra's Chamber Music Series. Her honors include awards from ASCAP, the American Academy of Arts and Letters, and the State Arts Councils of Pennsylvania and New Jersey. She is a member of the faculty at Princeton and spent a recent sabbatical as a fellow at the Radcliffe Institute for Advanced Study. Her CD, When the Smoke Clears, was released in 2002.
