This marimba solo is a very challenging one, both technically and musically. As can be inferred from the title, the piece is composed on the subject of love and its many incarnations. Containing the love song “Plaisir d’Amour” by Jean Paul Martini,  the piece shows the many rewards and challenges present in any kind of love with both lyrical sections and more stereotypically intense “Abe” sections. This is one of the most fully realized and well rounded pieces Keiko Abe has composed. Unlike some of her other compositions, this one may not be good for younger players.
