The MassChap 2008 Day of Percussion was a great success. A very big thank you to all those involved: the clinicians, performers, vendors, competition participants, and sponsors!
The MassChap 2008 Snare Drum Collection was released at the event and is now available for purchase! All proceeds from sales benefit the PAS MassChap. Click here from more info!
The Solo Snare Drum Competition featured students from across Massachusetts and from as far away as New York competing in the High School and College Divisions. The judging panel consisted of Thom Hannum (University of Massachusetts), Keith Aleo (Boston Conservatory), Donny Albro (Boston Youth Symphony Orchestra), Zach Schlicher (King Philip Regional High School), and Lee Vinson (Boston Symphony Orchestra). The level of playing was extremely high and after two rounds of competition the following winners were announced:
College Division
1st Place: Kyle Rittenhaur (Manhattan School of Music)
2nd Place: Victoria Aschheim (Harvard/New England Conservatory)
3rd Place: Seth Nicoletti (Manhattan School of Music)
High School Division
1st Place: Ted Babcok
